American citizens very familiar with an adult American (past or present) who has continually exhibited a love and pride of the USA through patriotic efforts that have contributed significantly to the good of our beloved, great country are encouraged to nominate this individual.

It can even be a family member, friend, employee, or another representative can.  Historians are also invited to do so.  (You just cannot nominate yourself.)

And remember that nominating a deserving American is not about one's status and/or popularity, but the totality of noble patriotic efforts relative to individual means and ability with the same relentless fervor that is an inspiration to fellow generations!
