In the spring of 2009, College of the Ozarks partnered with The Greatest Generations Foundation to create a powerful learning and travel experience which fulfills the College's goal of patriotic education and the Foundation's mission to educate the younger generation about the sacrifices of Veterans.
Providing opportunities for college-age students to travel with WWII Veterans back to the battlefields where the soldiers fought is a priceless experience both for the students and the Veterans. These trips provide a powerful bridge between the two generations. For the students, they grow to understand and appreciate the sacrifices that were made for freedom; for the Veterans, they not only have closure from the war, but they also know that their stories will not be forgotten by the students.
